blog goes stellar... Generally, my 'daily thoughts' blog gets maybe a 100 hits per day. In recent weeks, it's been getting 400+ hits per day, and rising. What's everyone so interested about all of a sudden? Well, all sorts of crazy shit. Tune in to learn. Enjoy. Live and love.

Silverthought staff interrogation... The first official post-launch interview about the two Silverthought paperbacks Bukkakeworld and Planet of the Owls, done by Silverthought staff members Mark Brand and Andy Laughton. These guys pull no punches and their questions explore the possibility that the two books have Stanislas Lem like subtext in this NeoFascist world in which we live.
Silverthought novels arrive... July 15 2008, Silverthought Press (NY) release Mike Philbin's new novels "Bukkakeworld" and "Planet Of The Owls". Click the 'books in hands' image below to be taken to the Silverthought Press bookstore - there's a special $5 OFF when you buy both together.
These 'genreclectic' titles are for adults only and they're crammed to the hilt with insane surrealistic horror in a manner that only Mike Philbin aka Hertzan Chimera can deliver. Here's what Silverthought editor Paul Hughes said, "Silverthought is positively turgid to announce a two-book deal with 'genreclectic' writer Mike Philbin. Fact: Mike is the first writer whose work has made me nauseous. Fact: Most people will not enjoy these books. Fact: This is some of the best experimental transgressive fiction I’ve ever read. Bend over." Oh, and if you're wondering what both books are really about and why they're intimately linked - remember what happened with Stanislaw Lem and other writers/artists back in the Communist era, it's all in the subtext. Look deep, dear friends, look deep.
philbin on youtube... Here are two to-cameras about my two new Silverthought Press novels "Planet of the Owls" and "Bukkakeworld", due July 2008 in paperback. In both cases, the videos were shot nearby on separate mornings and edited together in the afternoons. Enjoy.
bibliography... Here's a detailed bibliography of all the books I've written or collaborated on. It's not a short story list (my records aren't that detailed) but it is a list of all my published titles in paperback. It's what a reader wants to find on a writer's site, no?
new freelance section... I've added a freelance section that lists book/DVD reviews, author interviews and other freelance writing I've done in recent times. I'd also like to get back into my psycho-realist painting that's become quite popular again with recent style and art magazines features.
writers in oxford... Writers In Oxford is the society for published authors, here in Oxford, with links to the Oxford Literary Festival and world-famous author Philip Pullman among their members. They arrange special gatherings around Oxford to discuss relevant writerly issues, sometimes inviting guest speakers from all over the literary/journalistic world. You need to have had a minimum of three books published (not self-published) to get in. And I'm their newest member. They're a varied assortment of writers from all over the writing spectrum. Historians, critics, columnists, interviewers, reviewers, satyrists, travel writers, erotic writers, children's fiction writers and novelists of all shape and flavour.
new interview section... So many people are asking for interviews, have already done interviews or have interviews with me coming up in future print and online zines, I thought it might be a nice idea to arrange them all in one easy-access area. The latest additions include a Pacione/Philbin double interview BANNED from Skullring.org, an in-depth Associated Content interview and a dual-interview/discussion with AP Fuchs over at OutsiderWriters.org.
philbin on myspace... For those who care about communication with Philbin, there's a special MySpace page dedicated to just that. Click the link at the top of this item "philbin on myspace". Anyone looking for the MySpace Messiah, don't worry it was just an illusion.
